Vault Update

The Vault Update dialog is used to manage the synchronization state between the parts in the PartsDoc and the Items in the Vault.

Summary

The Vault Update dialog is used to manage the synchronization state between the parts in the PartsDoc and the Items in the Vault. It details each part in the PartsDoc, if a match can be found in the Vault, and when found, the state of that match. Once the dialog options have been configured, click Update to push qualified components from the PartsDoc, into the Vault. When the update process completes, the Vault Update dialog re-opens, displaying the final status of each Item. As part of the update process the schematic sheets and PCB are also updated, to include the latest Vault Item-Revision details.

Access

To open the Vault Update dialog, select Design » Update Vault from the PartsDoc menus.

Options/Controls

General

Add Description - if this option is enabled, the description from the PartsDoc part is added to the Vault Item as the Description.

Add Manufacturer Part Number As Comment - if this option is enabled, the Manufacturer Part Number is added to the Vault Item as the Comment.

Create Folder Taxonomy Using Categories - if the Ciiva folder taxonomy was included as a parameter in the part during analysis, when this option is enabled it is used to define the folder structure of the Items in the Vault.

Component Properties

This region displays a list of all of the properties (parameters) included in all of the parts. Enable those properties you wish to have added or updated in the Vault Items. Right-click to Select/Deselect All.

If the Vault Item has a different set of properties, or if the values of any of the properties are different from those in the incoming components, a new Item Revision of that component is created in the Vault.

Components

This section of the dialog lists all of the components in PartsDoc. The Match Type status indicates what action is required to have an up-to-date instance of each component in the Vault. As part of the analysis process that occurs when the Update Vault command is run, The Vault is searched to check if a component with a matching GUID already exists, and if it does, if it matches the existing Item, or if a new revision needs to be created.

Update

Update the Vault (add new Items or new Revisions), according to the current dialog settings.

Close

Close the dialog without performing an Update.
